High School Friend

I met Solly in our high school Latin class. Not only was he very intelligent but also easy to talk to, well liked and admired by his fellow classmates. I lost contact with Solly several years after we graduated from college. I continue to be saddened by his passing.

A wonderful physician

Dr. Sol Dan was a wonderful colleague and outstanding physician. His kind demeanor and concern for patients and staff made him beloved by all. May his memory be a blessing.

My uncle

My only uncle.
Came for all our "smachos"..
he brought a special light to any room he walked in to, with a kind face, and a worm smile...
As i  grow older we had more topics to talk about when he called, he always sent regards to my husband and children.
He always had a joke to tell(:
I felt very honored having him at my wedding and the family shabbot afterwereds. My in-law's and all their family were amazed by his personality and were very fond of him.
I hope to learn from him how to be a better person.

A human a Doctor and a family man

He gave unselfishly to others as a human being, as a medical doctor, and as a family man. His life of goodness was tragically cut short. May Sol's memory be for a blessing and may his family have no more sorrow.

My only Brother in-law

I want to also write about my only "brother".. I don't remember if we first met through NCSY or Stern/Y.U...us southerners tended to stick together. After those college years we were "chevra", single on the W.Side in the LSS community..We even lived in the same building..our girls' apartment was 2 floors under their guys' one...When his younger brother came up from Memphis to learn more about the bakery business Solly took him in as a fellow roommate and part of the chevra..Altho eventually his "little brother" and I married, moved far away to Memphis and then even farther away to Israel, we always kept in touch...usually by phone...I don't remember any big disagreements..Solly always had such a calm and calming personality. With a sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye ( when we did see him), he would ask how each family member was..I felt like I could talk to him like the brother I never had, asking for יadvice, complaining, sharing nachas, etc... Although we did not see him often, he made sure to come for simchas...He is already greatly missed...also by his only nieces and nephews on the Dan side....יהי זכרו ברוך....May his memory be a blessing..

fellow southerner

Solly and I were good friends at YU for many years. We spent a lot of time together. Not only was he extremely intelligent but he was talented as well. He used to participate in the Drama club and acted in several plays. But most of all he was a great guy.
