The nicest guy in the world

What a shock! Worlds greatest father, brother , son, community member. He always was a listening ear. A true Ben Torah in every sense of the word. When my boys were little “linicks” was our favorite store. We would end up shmoozing more than shopping. A life cut too short.

The sweetest guy

Eli was always with a smile for the 30 years I knew he was a good friend I’ll miss him terribly

Reb Eli Botknecht

devastated

I shopped at Linicks for years. R Eli always had a kind word and was so helpful. We developed all our film at Linicks yrs ago, sometimes 30 rolls at a time and he was always so happy for us when the photos arrived

הנפטר היקר עשה הרבה חסד בתוך המסחר שלו, הוא עזר לי לסייע למצות פדיון שבויים, בסבר פנים יפות

Amazing tzadik who had the time and patience for everyone

Treated Everyone With Honor

As a young parent living a few blocks away from the store many years ago, I not only bought toys for my kids there, but relied on his patient and helpful advice and recommendations. Not every busy store owner (& busy he was!) takes the "two-item customer" as seriously as the "heavy buyers". He did, and it was very much appreciated. To the family: May Hashem comfort you, & may you know no more tzaar.

A true Oved H'

Eli, with his constant smile, exemplified true gracefulness and kindness. I will miss his always giving me Shalom every time he passed me in shuel. Eli represented a true Oved H’. I am sure that all honor awaits him above. He will be missed in our Beth Hamedrash.

You will be Missed

Reb Eli always had a smile on his face. Always with a kind word and seeing Hashem in every situation. you were a true role model to myself and kids. You will leave a tremendous void in our Kehilla. Thank you for always showing your generosity and being a true Bal chesed

Reb Eli Botknecht

My dear friend eli

It is very difficult to put in to words 40 years of feelings and emotions. Eli, was the epitome of a true friend. He was always there for everyone. He was the quintessential baal chesed. If anyone needed anything Eli was there. If someone needed a shoulder or a good word they turned to Eli. If the shul or a yeshiva needed anything he was the one they called. He looked for zero recognition. His smile was contagious. His kibud eym was amazing. It was never a burden. He looked forward to the next opportunity that he would be able do it. His family was his life. Eli was a great husband and father. Eli & yblch"t his eishes chayil Gitty bh raised the most wonderful children. He took such pride in his heritage. He was so proud to be part of the daf. So proud of his kesher with his rov and his rosh yeshiva. He was a role model for everyone that knew him. May he be a melitz yosher for his family, his friends and all of klal yisroel.

To Aryeh

Anytime I ever saw or met your father his face was lit up with a beautiful smile. He had a heart of gold and was kind to everyone. He was an amazing husband, father, and friend and produced the most unbelievable kids. There are no words for such a loss, and I only daven the family has strength during this most difficult time.

Reb Eli Botknecht Z”L.

He was around 60. The Niftar lived in Boro Park for many years before moving to Flatbush. He Davened for years at Dayan Brody’s Shul in Boro Park, and then by HaRav Lipa Geldwirth in Flatbush. As a Bochur he learned in Yeshiva of South Fallsburg, where he kept a close Kesher with his Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Elya Ber Wachtfogel. He was a co-owner of Linnick’s Toy Store on 13th Avenue. Sadly, he married his youngest child off just two weeks ago.
