My father ר׳ יהושע ניסן ע״ה was niftar on Erev Pesach.

Yehoshua Friedman

Ateres Rosheinu

My father a"h was a special person. He was born in Eretz Yisroel and a resident of Monsey for over 60 years. Although he was niftar on Erev Pesach at the age of 84 years, he always had a youthful joy to him. Together with my mother shetichya (Malka- formerly Rennert), he uplifted so many with his warm smile and comforting words. As was quoted to me by all that met him, when he asked "how are you doing?" it wasn't just a greeting or a conversation starter; it was because he truly and deeply cared to know how you were doing and if there was anything that he can possibly do to help. No matter a young child or an elderly person, everyone was treated with a kind word, and encouraging smile. He helped so many people stand on their own two feet, whether it was helping them out in business or people going through emotionally hard times. He would always tell people to have a "lev sameach" and he truly meant it. He was someone who was machshiv Torah and enjoyed learning and had a wide-ranged knowledge of inyanim in Tanach. He leaves behind his partner in life, Malka. His children, Michoel (Monsey), Tova Messner (Monsey), Yitzy (Flatbush), Elly (Far Rockaway) and Chaim Dovid (Lakewood). His siblings in Eretz Yisroel, Shloima, Penina Basch, Esther Levinson and Chana Kleinhandler. He will be greatly missed. Yihei zichro boruch.

Uncle Yehoshua

My uncle Yehoshua Friedman ob"m. Passed away morning of second days of Pesach. Was buried shortly before Yomtov. His family sat shiva for one hour. No mention of him in any news site. Yehoshua is remembered by all as a quiet, amiable unassuming man. He was a sharp minded fellow and had his opinions, but expressed them respectfully. Age 84, he was born in Mea Shearim before the state of Israel. Most of his friends joined Etzel, and few remained religious. Married Malky Rennert, my mother-in-law's sister. All Yehoshua's children and grandchildren follow in his path of Torah and mentchlichkeit. Yehi Zichro Baruch!
